Discontinuance of Discovery Education

To: Active Discovery Education users, library staff, school administrators, regional and high school administrators

From: Melissa Goff, Executive Director, Teaching & Learning

UPDATE on DISCOVERY EDUCATION: 6/11/2012

Thank you to all teachers and administrators who have provided input regarding our tools for incorporating digital learning into our curricula. This year, we invested significant resources beyond that which was budgeted in order to maintain Discovery Education for schools who expressed high interest. Pricing per school has increased again, and we are now truly unable to afford this service. We understand this is a setback for staff who rely upon Discovery Education. We encourage all staff members to explore Learn360, our continued offering for similar resources.

Portland Public Schools

At Portland Public Schools, this is our goal: By the end of elementary, middle, and high school, every student by name will meet or exceed academic standards and will be fully prepared to make productive life decisions.

PLEASE NOTE: For schools wishing to fund their own campuses' access to Discovery Education, please visit the OETC Consortium Store at https://store.oetc.org for pricing and ordering information. If you have any additional questions, please contact Adrienne Howard, Instructional Resource Center at ahoward@pps.net.
